|Welcome To Another Adventure In
please bless each reader, and help them to find Your peace. Heal
their bodies, situations and circumstances. Lift up their spirits
and abide in their hearts, precious Lord. Let them know You as the
author of their peace and the one true and living God.
Imagine a lazy summer day in my garden. We've met at the fountain in the center of the garden, and strolled down the brick path to the patio furniture for some iced tea, or your favorite beverage. It's a warm day, but not too hot.
There comes a natural lull in our conversation, the comfortable silence between old friends, and you close your eyes for a moment. There in that space of time, with the sounds of distant birds and the bees gathering pollen in the flower beds...the world stands still. You are at peace, happy and safe.
We can use meditation like this for relaxation, entertainment, connecting with God, and healing time for our bodies.
Long ago, there was another garden, one that God planted, and with great excitement prepared fruit trees and nut trees, and flowering bushes, to sustain and delight the senses of His beloved new family. US!
God loved to spend time in this garden with His friends, and as you create your inner world, remember to invite Him to come walk with you in the cool of the day, as He did for Adam and Eve.
The world is abuzz about the "Law of Attraction" and "The Secret", but there is a SECRET to the Secret. It is this. There is no such thing as "manifesting". There is only asking and receiving. The term "manifesting" is worldly and seeks to glorify man, not God.
God provides us joyfully everything that is good for us. When we ask, He gladly gives without hesitation, unless it will harm us. Everything comes from God, not the "universe" or ancient runes or magical formulas and spells.
If you ask for something and don't get it, understand that this means it's not right for you at this time and God WILL make the situation turn out in your best interest.
He told us to think on whatever is pure and righteous and good because whatever a man thinks about he becomes. Whatever you think about, you draw into your life. It's a natural law of spirit that can't be broken.
Remember that Jesus said our daydreams are counted unto us as if we had already done them.
Fear nothing, ask boldly, love deeply and ask with confidence in the power of our God.
I bless you today, and every day, in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ and reach out to you in love. I wish for you every happiness to knock on your door and fill your house!
Is Perfect Harmony
not a doctor nor intend to give medical advice. Consult your
physician before making any changes.)
Healing implies a total bringing back into perfect order that which is out of order. Or bringing 'ease' back into what was 'dis-eased'. Taking a pill may help, if you need immediate relief from a headache, but...
Your body's distress is trying to tell you something!
*Is your food harmful to you? Many people have undiagnosed food allergies, or added ingredients that build up over time in your body until it can't tolerate this any more. Some of those harmful things are: MSG, partially hydrogenated fats, and artificial sweeteners. Even things such as nitrates found in hot dogs and sandwich meats can overload your system.
You may want to go on a short fast of water and lemon juice for just a day or two, to clean your system and avoid foods that have these additives. You can play detective and eliminate them one by one from your diet for 2 weeks each, and see if you feel any better.
*Is your job or home life such a struggle that the stress is killing you? You may be surprised to learn that every word you hear, even if not spoken to or at you, registers with your body and creates illness or health.
I have gotten so sensitive now, that I am very aware of this happening, and feel words as if they were punches or kicks to my stomach. You may not be that sensitive, but you must know that everything you are exposed to, is collected and remembered in your body. Some people call these organic collection centers "chakras", and some people call them your energy wheels.
It doesn't matter if it's a TV show you're watching, a real murder next door, or if someone is speaking hate towards you or someone else.
You will suffer or be blessed by everything you allow in your life.
*Is there something you know you need to do, or undo, that would bring peace into your life? Is there someone you need to forgive? Some lifestyle change that would bring you into alignment with your beliefs?
We can't do much to override our genetics, and we can't do too much to override our environment. But there are still many things that ARE in our control, and they count more than the genetic and environmental factors do.
Stress will harm you faster than food additives. In fact, the food additives wouldn't be much of a problem at all if your immune system wasn't taking repeated hits from the result of your interaction with other people.
*DO remember to isolate yourself often for meditation and prayer, once a day if possible.
*Watch LESS television. TV bombards us with messages at such a fast pace the mind does not have time to judge and assimilate the information. The result is often a weakened system.
*Smile, practice it physically even if you don't feel like smiling. This is important because the muscles are connected to the part of you that is harmony. When you work them in reverse you can lighten your mood.
*Drink more clean water. It's easy to become dehydrated, and you won't necessarily notice it until it's extreme. Why stress your body over things so easy to change?
*Walk and move and USE your body. It creates a natural high in your brain and helps you see your problems more clearly to solve them. Even if no solution comes to you, your body will be in better shape to deal with the things you cannot change.
Action is the cure for depression. Action of the body helps mesh your physical, mental and spiritual parts so that you feel more cohesive and whole.
*Sleep deeper, less disturbed, longer nights if possible. Use EFT, prayer or meditation to clear out the events of the day and remember to forgive yourself! Turn off the television and lights.
I probably don't need to tell you that sex is a great natural sleep aid.
*When you wake up, try to remember to make statements that affirm your belief in goodness, joy and prosperity coming your way. Say out loud, "This is going to be a wonderful day!" "I am happy." "I am going to have a perfect, prosperous and happy day!"
Remember, your subconscious is listening!
*The most beneficial activity to bring healing and peace to your body, is worship. I've mentioned this last so it will stay in your mind longest.
There is a place of humility and silence in your soul, where worship and connection with God exist. (It is the most secret garden of all.) If you can calm your spirit and wait in that secret place, perhaps chanting a line from a Psalm, in an attitude of worship, the Spirit will refresh and heal you.
It is your connection to the source of power, like plugging back into a wall outlet after having your batteries drained in the world.
To help you find that place and moment, here are some more formal worship songs you can listen to. http://www.taize.fr/en_article681.html Choose the ones you like, look over the site and it's pictures of worship. Be filled. Be loved. Be at peace.
How Tough Times Can Be Beneficial
As Hurricane Ike approached land I
was receiving phone calls from family who were panicking over the rising gas
prices. They jumped from $3.68 on Thursday to $5 a gallon here in my area.
People scurried to get into the long lines to get gas before the price went higher, which emptied some of the gas stations in town. As THAT news went out, that gas was running out, more people got into their cars to go buy gas.
All people managed to do is reinforce the reasoning for raising the price. They knew demand would be affected thereby making gas more valuable.
We validated their prediction before the storm ever reached the refineries and oil platforms.
As the news cameras panned the houses along the coast, it was evident that many houses were going to be destroyed or damaged, flooded certainly.
Eileen said the other day that when we were young, only the poorest people lived along rivers and oceans because people knew that those houses would not last when a storm came. (The wise man built his house upon a rock, the foolish man built his house upon the sand...)
Condos and construction signs went up everywhere, praising the virtues of living in "paradise". Miami grew, all the sea coast towns grew, houses were built in flood plains and as nature knocked them down, man rushed in to rebuild, like ants programmed to ignore the bigger picture.
In our personal lives, at times we ignore the bigger picture too, if we've over-extended ourselves financially, or put too much on our calendars.
If we don't take action and make corrections, the natural balance of the earth or our health may do it for us.
Have you ever noticed that with great natural beauty comes great danger? Yellowstone park with it's sizzling geysers and threat of an imminent volcano blast. Tropical islands that lull the senses into sleep with perpetual playtime, until out of nowhere comes a storm, leaving the inhabitants nowhere to hide, nowhere to run.
Even in human genetics, you often see the most beautiful women or men having deep problems that are hidden under the surface. Either from defects in their own character, or from the pressures society puts on them (that they allow). Because of their great beauty and popularity, they often experience a violent, unhappy life and an early burnout.
In the Bible, the promised land was not only beautiful, and filled with good things, but it was protected by the instruction and blessings of God. They faced wars to obtain it and keep it, but as long as they sought God, He never left them. They never lost until they let go of God and followed something fake.
Job had great wealth in his herds. He had many children, which were counted as part of his wealth and the blessings of his life.
The greatest wealth that Job had was that he held fast to God and never let Him go. He didn't follow after other "gods" or ideas, or playthings. He didn't seek wealth for wealth's sake. He worked with what he had and God granted the increase yearly.
It's not too late for us. We can choose to walk with God in wisdom, to receive His counsel and make alterations in our lives that bring us into a position for God to grant our increase yearly.
I don't believe that these stresses in our lives, our job problems and our money problems are simply the result of the approaching end times.
I believe that nature is seeking balance. I believe that along with the natural balance, God is actually AIDING us in finding our way back to Him and back to safety before it really IS too late.
So what can you do?
First of all DO NOT PANIC as you see banks fail and prices rise. Don't lose faith or run here and there, like those who sought gas last week before the price went up. Do only what you would normally have done, and then perhaps a little less.
We're going through another time of evening out. It was absolutely necessary and most everyone knew one day it would come. Overpricing for houses and the demand for ever more playthings has made life unreasonable, and nature won't bear it.
Maintain your peace and your goals, but with patience and love, not fear.
Second: Seek an attitude shift, and an anchor, so that our focus will bring into view the paths we need to take.
We need a bigger vision of our situations, back up a little and see it from a distance. See that the job you have or the house you have today, is not the end all prize.
Let God change it if it should be changed. Allow Him to decide that, and put your life in His hands. I know that sounds frightening, but I also know that He will reward you richly for doing that.
If you will have to make decisions or do things to keep your job or home that put you in conflict with what God has already told us to do, then mark this as an area for change.
If you've got more bills than you have income, look for what you can cut. If it means moving to a cheaper area, house or a state that has more benefits, ask God if this is what He wants you to do. (Remember He STILL stretches what we have so that it is sufficient.)
If you are trying to support people or ideas that are not your responsibility or are unrealistic in proportion to your income, look for an alternative. Ask God for help to get out of these situations.
Above and beyond all of this, more importantly than any other thing you can do, is to decide to walk with Him and OBEY His instruction.
God does and will speak directly to your heart so that you'll know without a doubt that it is His voice...IF you show Him that you are going to listen.
I know that many of you have already cut your expenses as low as possible and have not reached relief yet. This means that you've done all you can do for the level you're living on. To correct things further means moving down a level OR increasing your faith.
God can take every $10 that you used to spend for gasoline when it was in the $2 per gallon range, and make that amount of gas stretch for what you need.
You may not have more ten dollar bills now to put in the tank, but as you rely on God and talk with Him, and ask for His help (believing you'll receive it), He can increase what you have so that it is sufficient.
You might choose a change in jobs, moving, home-schooling your children, putting off purchases, expecting adult children to make it with less help from you, or learning new skills to take care of your needs yourself.
It may include our children stepping up and learning the skills they need to earn a little money and supplement the family income.
In most of the situations I hear of where there is a money crisis, there is an inequality of labor and reward in the home.
Usually one family member is trying to work harder to feed and clothe more people, more households or cater to unrealistic expectations of part of the family.
Some of these "problems" we're experiencing now are (or CAN be) beneficial to us.
Changing jobs can be the opportunity to start doing the kind of work you love to do.
If we can't afford the outrageous mortgage prices, eventually the price should go down and become reasonable.
We will appreciate everything in our lives more, as we realize that nothing we take for granted is a given.
If we really can't afford the gasoline, as a nation, our attitudes will change and employers will readjust working hours (I hope) so we don't come in for 2 or 4 hours at a time 5 days a week. That's very wasteful in gas.
As we use our vehicles less, we will pollute less.
As we have to pay more for everything, we will understand the value of telling ourselves no, sometimes, to save back a little money.
If we can't afford to live along water, we won't have to suffer losing our home every time it floods. (Or the mosquitoes to fight off, if we don't live near water.)
If we don't appear to be living in a pricey house or a rich lifestyle, we won't be a neon target for thieves.
If our children have to work, it will prepare them for their own futures. If they have to work for what they want instead of throwing fits to get every new toy or game, they'll appreciate life and US more!
Perhaps letting go of some things will finally bring us to a place of sustainable happiness.
No matter what happens, the person who leans on their faith will fare better than the person who tries to go it alone.
Remember the things that God gave you are things that no one can take. He provided everything on this planet that man would need to survive, but he didn't package it in a Little Debbie snack cake box.
Even if we hit rock bottom, God will be there to lift us up and UP is the only direction to go if that happens.
Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake Recipe In The World!
I received this in an email and was so thankful to know how to make a quick cake snack anytime!
You could also measure out the dry ingredients, put them in a zip loc bag and give with a pretty mug as a gift, along with instructions on what else to add and how to cook it.
I haven't tried this recipe yet, so you may want to test it and make adjustments. Please let me know how it turns out!
Why is it the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Well, that's easy! Knowing how to cut down a recipe into individual servings and an alternative way of cooking, empowers us to eat cake ANYTIME! Beware waistlines!
MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (This can serve 2 if you want to be nice and share).
If you are depressed, or feeling
lost, and medicines have not helped, or any other thing that you have
done...perhaps what you need is hope restored. This has worked for
me and I submit it to you to share the intense joy of something so humble.
There is, in a region of France called Burgundy, an old stone church that is lighting the fire of hope around the world. This little ecumenical (non-denominational) church community that is changing the world one soul at a time, is in Taizé. (Ta ZAY)
Surrounded by rolling green hills dotted with sleepy white sheep, lives a brotherhood of protestant monks who since 1940 have opened their doors to a never-ending flow of people seeking to know God. Their home is known as the The Church of the Reconciliation.
They come by the thousands for a week at a time to pray and learn, and take home with them the feeling of God's presence with them, and love for all mankind.
Called to prayer by the ringing of a tower bell 3 times a day, they have a unique music and chanted prayer, and sometimes sit on the floor holding lit candles. In between the music, a few moments of silence often bring the tears of hearts that have broken down all barriers and been touched forever.
There is a humility of true worship there, and you can see it in the photos, hear it in the music and see it on the faces of those who have been.
Although they send some of the Brothers here and to other countries to help lead prayer experiences, we don't need to actually "go" to one to benefit from it.
This link - http://www.taize.fr/en_article681.html is to a page where you can listen to the music and prayers, or download them to listen to anytime. Pray with them, sing with them, create your own altar and let God speak to your heart wherever you are.
For me, this style of worship, the reverence and formality, added a depth of appreciation to my life that I had forgotten. It humbled my heart and prepared me for the second half of this peace....
Suffering from an increasing feeling of loss and depression, I had almost given up hope of finding happiness.
I was unhappy with my house, my lifestyle, my financial situation, and my family habits. There wasn't much of anything that I DID like but I couldn't visualize what life would look like if I were happy. Therefore I felt helpless to change it.
On the same TV show that introduced me to Taizé, I was shown some French cottages for rent by the week for tourists and families who wanted to get away from the big city chaos and enjoy each other.
I noticed that those cottages were small, (like mine), and had rooms that had to serve multiple purposes, (like mine), and had grills outside where dads cooked part of the meal (like mine), and where mothers prepared special feasts for her children inside (like mine) and where the whole point of the week's stay was to be close with those you love without having to be interrupted by work or school.
DUH! In a flash, I realized that everything I valued was right here in my own house all along!
I have the lifestyle every day of being with family without interruption. It was part of what I had been unhappy about, because we had no need for a schedule. I thought we needed more busyness and purpose, but those people are paying for the joy of my kind of lifestyle!
I compared my "ugly, broken down old house" with the little cottages and saw how many similarities there are. The only structural problems we have here is a couple of leaks in the roof and some spots of floor that need replacing.
What my home REALLY needs is just emptying out of the clutter, so that I can enjoy my family, and my time with them, without the inconvenience of having too much stuff!
Once I accomplish this, all it will need is a splash of color here or there, and to realize that I have the very best of everything in my hands right now, and never saw it for what it was.
Could it just possibly be, dear friends, that you too are experiencing a distorted vision of your situation, based on or caused by too much of everything? Too much food, too much "fun", too much fast life and going here or there?
Perhaps you need to see the value of what you have, and that if you have the inner sanctuary of peace in God, every single thing that anyone could want above that, you already possess.
"Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants." -- Epicurus
For the first time in a couple of years, I can relax and smile. I only need to practice peace. Inside.
I hope this has helped you.
A Tip To Fight Clutter
|The Lack Mentality -
where you horde things because
you don't have faith that God will provide whatever you need AS you need
it. This person is ever collecting more, going to yard sales,
taking other people's cast offs. Always getting more and keeping
it in piles as if it was going out of style.
The Spoiled Child Mentality - a child who throws a fit to have every toy he sees, then plays with it for 5 minutes before throwing it down. This way of living doesn't take care of what we have, and it rots or perishes and we continue to whine that we don't have enough.
Does either type of personality sound like you? Are you feeling helpless to change? Where do you even start?
Here is a tip my sister told me recently to deal with the mess we collect.
As you look around at items to decide to keep or toss, if it doesn't make you smile when you look at it, it has lost its emotional value for you. Throw it out!
Remembering we were motivated originally to make each purchase by our emotions, (advertisers know this), then the less we allow ourselves to be ruled by them, the happier we will be.
I am now cheerfully, with great peace, eliminating my clutter and creating a home worthy of love and worship.
Be completely confident that God will provide richly for you, the things He knows is best for you, WHEN you're ready for them. Until then, if you ask God for something and He doesn't provide it, accept it and move on.
of the church in Taizé, left us this in his last unfinished
“God remains alongside us even in the fathomless depths of our loneliness. God says to each person, ‘You are precious in my sight, I treasure you and I love you.’ Yes, all God can do is give his love; that sums up the whole of the Gospel.”
What God asks of us and offers us is simply to receive his infinite mercy.
Through singing and
silence, young people discover that they are able to have new hearts,
simple hearts in the original meaning of the term, a heart without a
fold, an unfolded heart. The first Christians spoke of prayer as a way
of melting the “spiritual fat” that weighs down our thoughts and
desires. The image of folds is equally suggestive: an unfolded heart is
a heart stripped to the essentials, a heart that remains close to its
desires, and in this way discovers more clearly how God calls it to be
creative. “Every desire within us that calls to God already
constitutes a prayer. Your desire is already your prayer. There is an
inward prayer that never stops: your desire. If you want to pray, then
never stop desiring.” (Saint Augustine, Commentary on Psalm 37.)

Have you wanted to start a business or make some supplemental income for your family? Perhaps a little extra income would help, or a lot less spending.
A business may not be the best thing, depending on your circumstances, but there are still plenty of ways to earn income that don't require birth certificates and college degrees.
Ask for guidance in your prayers and speak with your family members to find out what support they will give you in your endeavors.
Here are some ideas that you might like to try:
Look inside of you to see what you truly love. Is there something you can do that you enjoy and that would provide a service to mankind?
If you choose something that aligns with God's will, your work will really soar and God will use it to pour blessings out to you with. (Remember to be grateful and only ask for what you really need, not excesses to store away or brag on.)
Everything you need to know about having a business is available online and for free. You can find it on many sites and in many ezines that are eager to send you this information in exchange for your coveted email address.
They will not send you spam, but your subscription to their ezine boosts their value. You will have to bother to unsubscribe when you no longer want the wisdom of their experience.

1000 Ways to Make Money by Rob Rednalab
This is an absolutely amazing collection of things you may NEVER have thought of to make money. Some are quick and some require a bit of planning, but if you can't find something in here, I don't know on what planet you'll look!
It took me 2 weeks to read this book and I loved every minute of it! It costs $19 but it has been the most re-read and cherished online purchase I've ever made.
I have enjoyed Ron Barrett's email course on how to make money with digital products (ebooks and software for other business people online) and his message is easy to follow.
I love Herman Drost's "isitebuild" for affordable web hosting and services, as well as online articles to teach you how to market your product and yourself. Check out those archived articles!
And finally, if you would like a course to prepare you to make your living online, that takes you through the basic steps, EVEN for someone who knows very little about computers yet....! Check out Yani's online "university".

An atheist moved in next door to her, and hated her morning shouts. He began coming out on his porch too and shouting "There is no God!" right after she would shout her praise.
One morning the old lady came out and shouted, "Praise the Lord! Oh Lord I am poor and have run out of food and if you don't do something I'm going to starve!"
The next morning she came out on her porch to find bags of groceries waiting for her. She stretched up her arms and shouted "Praise the Lord! He has brought me an abundance of food and I am saved!"
The atheist neighbor was hiding in her bushes, waiting for her to open her door. He became angry, jumped up and shouted "There is no God! I bought those groceries for you!"
To this the old lady shouted again "Praise the Lord! God has provided me with groceries and made the devil pay for them!"
(I hope we all remember to say thank you to those who assist us in the blessings God bestows, and never forget to thank HIM who gives all supply and all life!)
Here is a wonderful article written by one of the monks at Taizé, about the mystery of the three in one God.
Revelation 22:12-21 (Jesus speaking...)
12 "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.
20 He who testifies
to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon."
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.
