I bless you in Jesus' name and I'm excited to give you good news to "chew" on to comfort your worried soul.
There is such a gulf between what we say we believe and the "real world", isn't there?
We profess our faith, we kneel and pray for help, and then we get up and immediately go about moping, whining and declaring that we're doomed. Or trying to fix the problems ourselves.
If we really believed that God would provide for us, wouldn't we live differently?
If you knew you had a few million dollars in the bank, you'd certainly be living a bit differently than you are now, right?
So what is wrong with "Faith" that keeps it in the realm of make-believe, or "things we tell our children" (example: Santa Claus) and "things we tell our pastor" (example: we're so holy and pure).

In the beginning everything God made was perfect. We pretty much all believe that, right?
Did you know everything is STILL perfect?
God absolutely cannot lie He absolutely cannot fail. If God did not mean you could ask for healing (or whatever you need) and receive it, Jesus would not have said over and over "Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do"...
Jesus spoke carefully and made only the promises He really meant and will back up. Sometimes His words made people angry, sometimes they fell away ashamed, convicted of their sins. But there was no doubt that He meant what He said.
So be bold, come to the throne of God and ask so that you can receive!

Here are 14 empowering ways to make life work for you during these hard times, and what is to come.

Don't forget to:
Gird your loins with Truth (this covers the area of your body that relates to your family)
on the Breastplate of Righteousness (protects the heart and
lungs) If the heart is right many problems are taken care of before
they can get started!
Cover your head with the Helmet of Salvation (your eyes, ears, mouth, throat, thoughts). This covers verbal fights with others, what you hear and see on TV, and not condemning ourselves with our mouths.
Take up the Shield of Faith (protects you when burning attacks come)
the Sword of the Spirit (Word of God). Used as a weapon it
destroys the enemy's attack, and you can put serious damage on the unclean
spirits. You can put demons back into the pit, heal sicknesses, and
fight a good portion of the enemy's kingdom with this sword.
Wear the Shoes of Peace (to protect yourself from burning coals of war, walk in peace.) Every tender area of the body is covered with this armor of God.

What do we owe him?
Beware - Shocking Revelation Below, children and those with weak hearts, skip this section!
I've been a peculiar person most of my life when it comes to elections and all symbols of authority.
It's been a long journey for me to understand our responsibility toward our leaders in God's eyes. I can no longer get away with harboring extreme dislike for anyone, even if he's a president that I strongly disagree with.
There is something else I've learned that you may not have caught on to yet.
"It doesn't matter who is elected next month, or who you vote for, or support."
(Help! Don't beat me up too hard yet, let me explain!)
The reason I say it doesn't matter who votes for whom, is that God has a plan for this world and for our nation. The outcome of His plan and the timing depends more on each of us, and our behavior, our obedience and our personal choices at home, than who we vote for at the polls.
We have moved from a society that was kept in check by our parent's stern opinions to a nation of individuals who operate on the idea that we are a law unto ourselves.
We would still be feeling our ancestor's displeasure, if we lived in close knit families with our grandparents living at home with us.
We've gotten some other peculiar ideas too, like it's ok to leave the group if you disagree, rather than compromise; and that if we don't get our way, it's acceptable to use terrorism and subversive acts to either get revenge or sway the outcome.
(Examples: divorce, abortion clinic bombings, slander in campaigns, and hacking into Palin's emails?)
Regardless of who is elected, the Bible tells us to obey and pray for our leaders, because He appointed them as overseers and they are accountable for us. They will answer directly to God, and OUR JOB is to pray for them to heed God's Word, and help him do as good a job as he can.
Be honest and upright, don't hide or make excuses, but in all things state your beliefs and stand on them.
Knowing that this election will work out exactly as it is meant to at this time in history, perhaps you can rest a bit easier.
A Tip To Fight Clutter
For women, as the "Fly Lady" says, start cleanup at your kitchen sink. Keep it washed and your dishes done, all the time. That's headquarters, ladies.
For men, I would think keeping the car fluids checked, tires properly inflated and the tools organized and handy are his most important jobs around the home.
For both of you, making sure the home fires are burning and that you forgive each other daily, tell each other how much you care...that's couple maintenance and you're both responsible for that!
If we can manage just that much today, we are blessed!
7 WAYS TO A JOYOUS DAY
“THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAD MADE, WE WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.”
1) FRET NOT: You can't add one more day to your life or more life to your day by fretting. Worry doesn't take away tomorrows troubles, it only rids today of it's strength.
2) FORGIVE FREELY: Forgiveness is not about saying that what a person did is okay or that they're right. It's about making a decision, a choice to let the hurt and anger go. It frees you up to move on. Forgive someone and you'll discover that that person has virtually no power to hurt you anymore. Then you'll be able to focus on what you really care about: the joy of life!
3) FEAR NOT: Place your fear in God's hands and you'll find that you have greater peace each day.
4) LIVE PASSIONATELY: Nothing gives the day greater joy than a good wallop of passion that comes from doing something from the soul.
5) GET OVER IT: Face each day determined to dwell on the positives. Write a list of your blessings. Try lending an ear to someone in need. When you start living for others, it's pretty hard not to get over whatever is bothering you.
6) COLLECT YOUR BLESSINGS: Recognize all that you have, and finding blessings to collect will become easy. Make gratitude your default emotion. Expect good things and seek out people who can encourage you.
7) COLOR YOUR WORLD: The world is full of vibrant color. Don't let it lose an ounce of its luster. Assume this day is going to be good and it will. God made it so!

And Money Tips
Instead of getting a second job, or mothers leaving home to work, consider cutting expenses at home. There are also jobs to do from your home that you can try. Here are some of those ideas from last month's issue:
Here is something you can try to see if you can let your cable or satellite go. If you don't already have a paid TV provider, perhaps this will increase the channels you can receive.
You've been seeing on TV the notices that in February next year, television stations must stop broadcasting an analog signal, which means that if you don't have a TV that can pick up a digital signal (the new TVs) you will need to purchase a TV digital converter box. They will be found at places like Wal-mart and Radio Shack.
If you have one of those converter boxes, OR already have a digital TV (read your manual, see if it boasts that as a feature), you may be able to attach a simple rabbit ears antenna to pick up several channels. If you live in a hollow, you may need an outdoor antenna above your house.
My niece was staying at an RV park here in town, and saw that they were using a simple rabbit ears on a digital TV and were able to get many channels.
Go to this website (below) to order your two free coupons to buy digital converter boxes. (Even if you don't use them, you can only ask once, so get both coupons.) The coupons are good for 90 days. (SAVE the reference code number they give you on the website or over the phone, in case the coupons become lost in the mail.)
If you take your coupon to Wal-mart, the cost of the converter box will be $15. If you have a Sam's Club card, I've heard at Sam's you would only pay $5 with the coupon for a converter box.
I have also heard that a Radio Shack rabbit ears antenna is about $40, but if you buy their more expensive model (that goes outside on your roof) they will come install it for free. I haven't confirmed this and it may not be offered in all areas, so call your local store for confirmation.
If you need money to winterize your home, there may be grants and programs in your area that can pay for your fix up.
I know the Easter Seals foundation has programs to help fix up a home for a handicapped person, and your local Community Action Program can tell you of other things that may be available.
Other places to call: Your local City or County Building Codes Department, your City or County Council Office, Community Development, and the County Extension Service office.
Speaking of the County Extension Services (in our area they are affiliated with the University of Georgia), they have a WEALTH of information for families to save money, food, budget and buy a home. In your state it might be slightly different, but worth checking out. You can read the publications online at the following link, or call your local health department and ask how to find your own county extension agent.
Sandra McKinney, Crisp County Extension Coordinator and Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, offers assistance and programming in financial management, food and nutrition, child and family development and housing.
She is a faculty member of the University of Georgia and her position is funded by UGA and Crisp County . Most of her programs are free of charge and opened to all area residents.

There was a married woman who had been abused by her husband and treated so awfully all through their marriage, but she stayed with him because she was a faithful Christian woman.
One day she died and found herself standing before St. Peter at the pearly gates. Peter told her that before he could let her in, she had to spell one word correctly.
Asking what the word was, the woman was told to spell the word LOVE.
She said, "Oh! That's easy, it's L-O-V-E." St. Peter opened the gates and let her pass.
She hadn't been there very long when St. Peter came up to her and asked her to stand in his place at the gate while he ran an errand. He said, "All you have to do if someone comes up, is ask them to spell a word and then let them in if they get it right."
So St. Peter hadn't been gone 5 minutes when this woman's husband died and came to stand before the gates. Upon seeing his wife, the husband barked out in his usual mean way, "Oh! I see YOU made it, open the gate and let me in!"
His wife replied, "Not so fast, before you can enter here, you have to spell one word correctly."
He answered, "Ok, what is the word?"
The wife replied, "Spell Czechoslovakia!"

Did you know that when you forward emails, you could be supplying professional spammers with fresh email addresses, or that if you get a virus one day, you could infect every email address that has come through your computer?
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
|Prayers and Worship
Lord, you are Holy! Lord you are Worthy! Lord, my best worship is never going to be enough for what you deserve.
Please help me in my worship and in my attitude. Change me as I need to be changed. Strengthen me where I am weak. Lead my feet, my hands and especially my mouth, so that I do your will and do no harm.
Please safeguard my eyes and ears so that temptations will be minimal and that I can grow into the full stature of Christ Jesus.
Heal us, protect us and provide for us as you always do, and help us to forgive everyone in our lives as you forgive us.
Lord please guard our hearts against getting our feelings hurt, and forgive those who hurt us.
You have the power, the dominion and the glory forever Lord.
