Hi, I'm Lisa, "Chastity
Rose". I'm glad you found your way here today, to my little
corner of the Internet that I call Chastity Rose's Garden. It's
like a garden because it's filled with secret twists and turns, dappled with
sunshine and dotted with beauty here and there.
You, the observer, are a part of
the garden. You add beauty to it, and meaning to its existence.
May

A Tribute To My Own Veteran
John Hollis Perdue, "Rod" to most of
you. Yesterday I got a brand new understanding of what's so special
about him. I was telling Chris about his adventures in Vietnam and
things he had suffered there. I guess having to tell it to Chris in a
very simple way brought it home to me how strong and brave he is.
I don't know anyone with more courage and
strength than he has to face problems and overcome things my body says
no to!
He had to go there because of the draft, but he
didn't run away or hide. He made the best of it and excelled at
survival and adapting to the situation. He was an excellent sniper,
was hit by shrapnel, earned medals and caught malaria. He endured.
That's one of the things I was really drawn to in
him. I knew that he never quits, and he'd be faithful. He is, to a
fault!
I knew he'd protect us with his life, he does,
willing to lay it down for me and my kids.
I knew that no matter how bad the world got, he'd
find food for us and his survival skills would keep us alive.
After 13 years and no matter how ugly or fat I
get, his level of devotion and interest and joy in being with me is
the same. Never dampened. I've even seen him become a BETTER person
and grow in intellect. God is good, and I'm grateful that he gave me
Rod.
Now I'm asking myself how can I honor him and give back
to him the devotion and faith in him that he's given me. :) Life just
got more interesting!

Hello Dear
Reader!
This month is
all about celebrating the return of spring, and the renewing of our
spirits with God's Word and His wonderful creation around us.
Simple joys,
picnics, baseball, running through the park with your dog, wishing upon
the stars and begging to stay up late to watch an old movie. You
remember!
We have not
grown so old that we've forgotten the magic of our first kiss, with
the RIGHT guy! Or the prom dress we really wanted, or the triumph of
getting our driver's license.
Let's not
forget how wonderful it feels to make a gift for someone, or sit quietly
with a friend who is grieving or worried.
Those of us
who are older remember sitting next to the bed of our children and praying
over them when they were ill, reading to them when they were not sleepy
yet, and telling them about our own childhoods.
There is much
more to this life than working, finding a high paying job or a great deal
on a condo. There is more than the oil spill in the gulf and the
angry consumers of every country who wonder where their money went.
Whenever
these ugly thoughts and news stories threaten your calm, turn off the
news, bring out your favorite sheet of Bible verses and begin to praise
the Lord and sing. When you do this, all the evil, the unclean
spirits, the depression and yes, even the sickness, HAVE to flee from you.
Where light
is, and where it is welcomed in, no darkness can touch you. If you
do this long enough, regularly, your life and your health will change.
While you're
waiting for the perfect healing, talk to God often, and go enjoy some of
the simple pleasures of life. It doesn't have to cost money.
It doesn't require losing weight or becoming glamorous, or buying new
clothes. Go as you are.
Love yourself
just the way you are today, and "tap" (EFT) for every problem
you can think of, combining your words with your prayers, and using God's
Word (scripture) to bring about the changes you need and really desire in
your life.
There is a
saying, "Whatever you really want, you already have." If
you want something different than today's reality, go after it.
Dream it, pray about it, and determine that nothing will stand in your way
of reaching your goal, with God's help.
You CAN do
it! Jesus said, "Be it unto you according to your faith!"
To God be the glory
forever! His Words are life and to all who find them and eat
of them, they will be healing to their flesh and joy to their
hearts.
If you plant the seed
of the Word in your heart you will live and flourish and never die.
Have a Great Day!
God
bless you!
Lisa
